In view of the ongoing international health crisis, the SIG coordinators, the local organizers, and the International Scientific Committee had to face the fact that this crisis is not likely to go away soon. We all concluded that it is not realistic to hope that we will be able to hold a face-to-face conference in August/September 2020 in Dresden. We are currently looking into the organizational and financial implication of postponing the Joint Conference into March or May 2021. We are also preparing a poll for the SIG 8 and SIG 16 members. As soon as we have further information on this matter, we will provide you with an update! We are proud to continue the SIG 8’s tradition of organizing a summer school for promising young researchers prior to the conferences. This year, we are excited to invite applications from both SIGs! The Summer School of SIG 8 and SIG 16 will be held together from the 31st of August to the 2nd of September in beautiful Moritzburg (https://www.kulturlandschaft-moritzburg.de/) near Dresden, Germany. Distinguished scholars will serve as mentors for graduate students at various stages of their educational careers, who conduct research in the fields of motivation and/or metacognition. Don’t miss the chance to discuss your research with leading experts and other graduate students from around the world! We are pleased to announce that the following teachers have confirmed their participation in the Summer School.
